Itse tahtoisin vielä kovasti mustan vastaavanlaisen huopahatun kuin tuo uutukainen beige, mutta sellaista en tule ostamaan ennenkuin varmistun siitä, että todella käytän uutta hankintaani. Sillä välin sitä voi kartoittaa valikoimaa sille päivälle kun huomaa, että hattu on saanut ulkoilua hintansa edestä...

Just a couple of days ago I bought myself a beige hat. However, I have already found myself dreaming of a black one as well... If I wend up useing it as much as I plan to this autumn, I will consider buying a black one as well. Meanwhile, I created a few collages for you who are in the search of a perfect hat. Outfit with a fall hat

Eilen löysin Stockmannilta ihanan hatun. En ole ennen käyttänyt hattuja sen kummemmin, mutta nyt pyrin kyllä yhdistämään tätä kaunokaista syyspäivien asuihin. Hattu pääsi neitsytmatkalleen eilen kun illalla käytin koiria lenkillä Helsingin kauniissa maisemissa.

Yesterday I bought a new hat from Stockmann's, which is a well known Finnish department store. I haven't worn that many hats in the past, but I completely fell in love with this piece and I will try to integrate it more with my fall outfits. The new addition got it's maiden voyage yesterday when I took my dogs for an evening walk in the beautiful scenery of Helsinki.

Fashion files - Franca Sozzani

Koska pyrin pitämään blogini kovin pinnallisena ja muotiin keskittyvänä, oletan, että blogiani lukee paljon juurikin muodista kiinnostuneita ihmisiä. Siitä syystä ajattelin hieman laajentaa tätä juttujeni skaalaa ja esitellä omien tyyli-ikoineni lisäksi blogissani muodin tämän päivän suuria nimiä, kuten stylistejä, valokuvaajia, toimittajia, suunnittelijoita sekä suurien muotilehtien avainhenkilöitä. Seuraavaksi esittelemäni henkilö kuuluu viimeiseen kastiin, nimittäin Franca Sozzani, Italian Voguen päätoimittaja.

Franca Sozzani syntyi Italiassa vuonna 1950 ja on koulutukseltaan journalisti. Hän aloitti uransa Vogue Bambinin parissa ja eteni siitä työskentelemään Italian Voguelle. Vuonna 1988, hän siirtyi lehden johtoon päätoimittajan roolissa ja on pitänyt titteliään Vogue Italian editor-in chief:inä nyt jo yli 23 vuoden ajan. Moni saattaakin tunnistaa paremmin Anna Wintourin nimen, joka puolestaan on Amerikan Voguen päätoimittaja. Vaikka heidän toimenkuvansa ovat samat, on muotimaailma todennut Francan kädenjäljen Voguessa olevan taiteellisempaa ja toimivan tiukemmin muodin ehdoilla.

Franca on kirjoittanut uransa varrella myös lukuisia kirjoja, kuten:

• 30 Years of Italian Vogue (1994), 
•  A Noir (an exploration of the colour Black between fashion and art, published by Assouline, 1998), 
• Style in Progress (30 years of L’Uomo Vogue, 1998), 
• Valentino’s Red Book (2000)

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?
Some Manolo Blahnik heels; they're feminine and quite precious, almost like jewels.

What is your fallback outfit?
A black coat over a black dress. I have many of both by lots of designers.

What is your one piece of fashion or beauty advice?
Don't do too much to your face, either by piling on too much make-up or undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Biggest fashion faux pas?
When your choice of fashion has nothing to do with the shape of your body.

What aspect of fashion do you dislike the most?
That the fashion world is a serious business yet so many people in the industry have such a superficial attitude.

How do you think people perceive you from the way you dress?
Quite seriously, I suppose, though I am still approachable.

If you could steal the wardrobe of anyone - past or present, fictional or real - whose would it be and why? 
Someone from the Renaissance. Lucrezia Borgia, say, for all that gorgeous brocade.

If you could change one part of your body, which would it be?
Ha, it depends what day you ask me that; the answer changes all the time.

A book, music, Carita hair conditioner, an umbrella and a picture of my son.

What is a day in the fashion life of Franca Sozzani?
There is a lot of changing. I've worked in the fashion world for a long time but I'm not fed up with clothes and I like dressing up, though I'm quite practical during the day. In the evening I like to be more glamorous.

Itse pidän kovasti hänen asenteestaan muodinmaailmaan. Hän suosii luonnollisuutta ja klassisuutta sekä ymmärtää muodin olevan niin paljon muutakin kuin pelkkää pintaa. Todellisuudessa muodinmaailma kun on kova bisnes, missä pyörivät suuret rahat sekä kilpailu on äärimmäisen kovaa ja ankaraa.



My blog, Strictly Style, focuses on fashion and to all things feminine. I strive to maintain my blog as very superficial, without discussing my personal life. Therefore, I believe that the people who continue to read my blog from one day to another, share my passion for the fashion world. This is the reason why I feel, that I want to broaden my topics into more informational posts as well. From now on, I will occasionally create these "Fashion Files" - posts, where I showcase some of the most influential people in fashion today, like: stylists, photographers, designers, journalists and other trend-setters. I will kick-off this category with no other than the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani.


Franca Sozzani was born in 1950 in Mantu, Italy. She studied to become a journalist and began her fashion career in Vogue Bambini. Eventually she transfered to Vogue Italia, and since 1988 she has been the editor-in chief in this bible of fashion.
Franca is also an author of several books about photography, fashion, art and design. To mention a few of these books:

• 30 Years of Italian Vogue (1994),
• A Noir (an exploration of the colour Black between fashion and art, published by Assouline, 1998), 
• Style in Progress (30 years of L’Uomo Vogue, 1998), 
• Valentino’s Red Book (2000) 

Occasionally the Sunday times conducts Fashionista questionnaires, to which Ms. Sozzani has also participated. Above, you can find her tips and thoughts about fashion.

Overall, I really relate to her attitude on fashion. She values natural beauty, classic designs and is a hard core business woman, who understands the magnitude of fashion industry as a business. It might be beautiful on the outside, but it's a red pool of sharks in reality.

Kourtney Kardashian Style Steal

Muutama päivä takaperin ihastelin teille Kourtney Kardashianin tyyliä. Selaillessani Zara onlinen valikoimaa, huomasin melko samantyylisen hameen heidän tämänhetkisessä valikoimassaan, kuin mitä Kourtneyllakin on nähty päällä. Kyseisen hameen avulla onkin melko helppo luoda Kourtneyn tyyli kun sen yhdistää mustaan perustopppiin, mustiin korkkareihin ja mustaan laukkuun.

A few days back I shared my admiration for Kourtney Kardashian's style with you guys. If you are also fans of her outfits, here's a small tip: In Zara you can now find a skirt that resembles the one seen on Kourtney. Just pair it with stunning black heels, a basic balck top and a black tote bag - you are good to go.

Softness of beige

Mustaa ja valkoistakin enemmän minun tekee mieli tällä hetkellä pukeutua päästä varpaisiin beigen eri sävyihin. Jos minun tulisi yksi ainoa suunnittelija valita, jonka vaatteisiin pukeutuisin koko syys/talven ajaksi niin se olisi varmaankin herra Michael Korsin mallisto. Yksivärisyys päästä varpaisiin jotenkin viehtättää minua kesän rohkeiden väriyhdistelmien jälkeen. Pehmeää ja sensuellia, sitä haluan syksyn olevan

Fashiolistan puolella loinkin oman syksyn himotuslistani (minne on näemmä söpöt Lanvinin rusettisandaalitkin eksyneet?:D). Mikäli joku yllä olevista tuotteista herätti mielenkiintosi, voit käydä tarkistamassa niiden alkuperän Fashiolistan profiilistani.
Vaikka päivät ovatkin jo pimeämpiä ja sateisempia, vielä mieleni tekee kuitenkin hentoa valoista ja beessiä. Ah. Onneksi tänä syys/talvena niitä näkyy yllinkyllin kaikkialla.

On top of black and white, I am really drawn to soft beige tones. Luckily this fall's trends include a wide range on different "in" colours and beige is definetly one of them. A great example of this is the Michael Kors collection, that I presented to you guys here earlier. If I could choose only one desginer who's clothes I would wear through out this whole season, it would most likely be Mr. Kors's sensual and elegant line. After fearless color blocking summer, I am so intrigued by the monotone ensebmles...

Back to basics

Kulunut kesä oli minun osaltani hyvin värikäs. Olen aina ollut klassisten kappaleiden suosija, mutta viime sesonkina rohkeiden värien yhdisteleminen vei minut kerralla mennessään ja se tuntuikin itselleni sopivalta. Nyt kuitenkin pimeämpien ja kylmempien säiden myötä huomaan, että kaipaan takaisin neutraaleihin sävyihin kuten mustaan, valkoiseen, ruskeaan ja harmaaseen. Onneksi näitä perusvaatteita on omaan kaappiini vuosien varrella kertynyt oikein mukavasti ja nyt voin ne taas kaivaa esiin paraatipaikalle. Mustan ja valkoisen yhdistelmä on varma klassikko, jonka kanssaa harvoin menee mönkään. Moni mieltääkin moisen klassisuuden tylsänä, mutta tänä sesonkina niille jotka kaipaavat ajattomaan kombinaatioon hieman potkua, saavat he sitä maskuliinisuudesta, mielenkiintoisista materiaaleista sekä printeistä.

Henkilökohtaisesti, ainut mikä näistä erikoisista printeistä ja materiaaleista itseäni viehättää on pitsi. Vaatekaapista löytyykin entuudestaan yksi musta pitsinen kotelomekko. Koko kesän etsin valkoista pitsistä hametta, mutta sopivaa ei tullut vastaan. Nämä muut printit eivät taida olla minun juttuni ja jään täten ihailemaan niitä muiden päällä. Tällä hetkellä mieleni tekee pukea päälle vaan vanhoja perusklassikoita. Usein kun vähemmän on vaan enemmän.

During whole past summer, I have worn a lot of color. I actually managed to wear colour so much, that at this  moment I am fed up with it. Now when the weather is getting darker and colder, I just want to dress myself in neutral colours like black, white, brown and grey. Many think, that dressing yourself up in a classic combination of black and white is boring to say the least. Luckily, this season black and white joins forces in different masculine twists and bold prints like stars, plaid and polka dots, making the classic combo a bit more interesting. However, from the different trends shown before, lace is the only one that appeals to me. The other bold prints are simply not for me, but I'm sure I'll continue to admire them on others. For now, I just want to get back to basics, since deep down in side I am more of a classics' girl. Ah, change just feels so good! :)
